Digital Radiography (XRAY)

In keeping with our philosophy of providing the most modern equipment to aid in the diagnosis and treatment for your pet we traded in our older xray unit and processor for a new state-of-the-art DIGITAL XRAY SYSTEM.

There are many advantages of digital radiography including:

  1. Far superior image quality compared to traditional radiographs.
  2. Immediate observation of radiographic images guarantees the best quality of the image and assures us that the view and position we desire is perfect.
  3. Ability to enhance images by making them lighter or darker or to change the contrast.
  4. Data Storage. Since there is no need for Xray film, the computer-generated images are stored in the computer where they can be brought up at any time for viewing and can even be e-mailed to other veterinarians. Copies can also be made for you onto a CD.

Laser Therapy

We are now proud to offer Laser Therapy at the Cheyenne Pet Clinic to our growing list of modern, high-tech procedures available for your pet. The Companion Therapy Laser is designed to give your pet fast pain relief and improve post-surgical healing. Laser Therapy can be used for treating soft tissue injuries, acute and chronic painful conditions, and helps in wound management.

Outpatient therapy involves a veterinary technician passing the painless laser beam directly across your pet’s skin while you are holding or sitting with your pet. Your pet will experience a feeling of warmth while the laser is activated and the treatment usually lasts only 5-10 minutes. The laser beam is transmitting energy into the cells during this time, causing the cells to regenerate at a faster rate, leading to more rapid healing. The laser energy reduces inflammation which leads to reduced swelling and less pain. Essentially, pain relief is being offered in a painless setting with no anesthesia or medication required. Please ask us if your pet would benefit from therapeutic laser therapy. For more information, please visit: www.CompanionTherapyLaser.com

Video Otoscope

At the Cheyenne Pet Clinic, we are always looking for new techniques and equipment to help us take care of your pet. Video Otoscopy is an exciting new field of diagnostics and treatment. This high-tech instrument is a tiny color digital camera connected to a tapered probe that we use to perform examinations deep inside the ear, nose or throat. It transmits images to a monitor so that the ear canal and eardrum can be visualized clearly. Pictures of these images can be printed out for your pet's record or for you to take home.

Short endoscopes such as the Video Otoscope can be used in many ways to improve our diagnosis and treatment of common problems of the ear or throat. We use the camera to diagnosis and treat ear infections, polyps, and blockages; and to pinpoint dental of throat conditions as well as genitourinary problems. The Video Otoscope also allows us to treat serious ear problems because it has an attachment which allows deep ear cleaning, often the first and most effective step in therapy. In addition, the Video Otoscope can be used to perform surgery in conjunction with our laser. We can also perform biopsies deep in the ear canal, remove foreign objects and determine the condition of the ear drum.

An entire new line of antibiotics and flushes made especially for ear disease are available as well.
