  • Acupuncture

Acupuncture involves the insertion of thin sterile needles into discrete and specific points on the body to cause a therapeutic effect but may include other methods such as electrical stimulation.  Clinical research has been conducted showing positive results in the treatment of animals, and the use of acupuncture is increasing in veterinary medicine. Acupuncture will not cure every condition, but it can work very well for your pet when it is indicated.

  • Cremation

We work closely with Lasting Paws Memorial Services to make sure your faithful companion’s final step is done with compassion and the utmost respect.  They have different options to choose from as far as cremation services and choices of beautiful urns.

  • Dental Care

Dental health is a very important part of your pet’s overall health, and dental problems can cause other health problems.  Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked annually by one of our veterinarians.  If a problem is detected we will discuss with you a treatment plan to keep your pet’s mouth healthy.

  • Digital Radiography

Radiology is an important diagnostic tool at Cheyenne Pet Clinic. Our high-tech digital X-ray machine provides us with accurate and speedy digital images which help in the diagnosis of diseases and trauma.  The images can also be shared with the pet owner and specialists via e-mail.

  • End of Life

We strive to help animals in every stage of life, even as they are nearing the end of their journey.  We understand that part of loving a pet eventually involves making the difficult decision to consider their quality of life. Our veterinarians can talk with you about any concerns you may have with your aging pet. Whether it’s making sure they are comfortable during their hospice care or if you need help in giving them a peaceful passing, we are here for you every step of the way.

  • Euthanasia

It’s never an easy decision to make, but perhaps the kindest thing you can do for your pet that is extremely ill or so severely injured that it will never be able to resume a life of good quality is to have our veterinarian provide a humane death by euthanasia.

A decision concerning euthanasia may be one of the most difficult decisions you will ever make for your pet. Although it is a personal decision, it doesn’t need to be a solitary one. The veterinarians at Cheyenne Pet Clinic can help you make the right decision and can support you as you grieve the loss of your pet.

  • Geriatric Care

Our veterinarians may recommend a geriatric workup for your older pet, which would include a physical examination, blood chemistry profile, complete blood count (CBC), urinalysis and a chest x-ray.

Pre-surgical examinations along with a pre-surgical blood profile are routinely performed on any older pet prior to surgery or dentistry procedures.

  • Laboratory

Our up-to-date laboratory is able to provide important information to help diagnose medical problems or to determine if your pet is in top-notch shape or not. Chemistry panels, complete blood counts (CBC), urinalysis, fecal examinations, feline leukemia/FIV tests, and heartworm tests are just some of the procedures performed in our laboratory. Pathology (biopsy) specimens are usually sent to the Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory in Laramie. For other, more specific tests, we use different laboratories in various parts of the country.

  • Physical Exams

A physical examination involves observing the general appearance of your pet, listening to their chest with a stethoscope, and feeling specific areas of the body (palpation).  Examinations of your pet are recommended annually until 8-10 years of age, after which semi-annual examinations are recommended.  Pets are routinely given physical examinations during visits for vaccinations.

  • Surgery And Laser Surgery

Our surgical suite is state-of-the-art with the newest, safest anesthetic machines, heating pads, and a positive pressure ventilation system. All anesthetized animals are monitored with a cardiac/respiratory monitor to insure a safe and speedy procedure and recovery.

Our Carbon Dioxide Surgical Laser offers a totally new dimension to many surgical procedures.  The laser offers minimal bleeding and swelling when used.

  • Therapeutic Laser Therapy

We offer Laser Therapy at the Cheyenne Pet Clinic to our growing list of modern, high-tech procedures available for your pet. The Companion Therapy Laser is designed to give your pet fast pain relief and improve post-surgical healing. Laser Therapy can be used for treating soft tissue injuries, acute and chronic painful conditions, and helps in wound management.

Outpatient therapy involves a veterinary technician passing the painless laser beam directly across your pet’s skin while the pet owner holds or sits with their pet. The pet will experience a feeling of warmth while the laser is activated and the treatment usually lasts only 5-10 minutes. The laser beam is transmitting energy into the cells during this time, causing the cells to regenerate at a faster rate, leading to more rapid healing. The laser energy reduces inflammation which leads to reduced swelling and less pain. Essentially, pain relief is being offered in a painless setting with no anesthesia or medication required. Please ask us if your pet would benefit from therapeutic laser therapy.

  • Ultrasound

Ultrasonography provides a diagnostic, non-invasive approach to imaging pets.  Ultrasound imaging involves exposing part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce pictures of the inside of the body. There is no radiation used in ultrasound imaging and no known adverse side effects.

Our veterinarians use ultrasound to:  scan the organs in the abdomen, obtain biopsy samples of internal organs,  assess the internal structures of the heart, and detect pregnancy in pets.

  • Vaccinations

Puppies and kittens should receive a series of immunizations starting at 6-8 weeks of age, followed by yearly boosters. Pets kept mainly indoors need vaccinations also, and may even be more susceptible to infectious diseases, due to the lack of natural immunity.

Dogs are vaccinated for canine distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, coronavirus, parainfluenza, Leptospirosis, and rabies. Yearly boosters are recommended for the distemper-parvo combination vaccine. If your dog has had a rabies vaccine previously, then the rabies vaccination will be good for three years. Each year when the annual visit occurs, your dog will receive a new rabies tag and certificate of registration.

Vaccines for kennel cough (bordatella) are recommended if your dog is to be boarded at a kennel or if they are to be around a lot of other dogs (dog show, dog parks, etc.).

Also available are vaccines for Lyme Disease  and rattlesnake venom.

Cats are vaccinated for feline distemper, rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, feline leukemia and rabies.

  • Video Otoscope

Video Otoscopy is an exciting new field of diagnostics and treatment. This high-tech instrument is a tiny color digital camera connected to a tapered probe that we use to perform examinations deep inside the ear.  It transmits images to a monitor so that the ear canal and eardrum can be visualized clearly.

Short endoscopes such as the Video Otoscope can be used in many ways to improve our diagnosis and treatment of common problems of the ear.   We use the camera to diagnosis and treat ear infections, remove foreign objects from the ear canal, and determine the condition of the ear drum. The Video Otoscope also allows us to treat serious ear problems because it has an attachment which allows deep ear cleaning, often the first and most effective step in therapy. In addition, the Video Otoscope can be used to perform surgery in conjunction with our carbon dioxide surgical laser.
